Post subject:  social circle situation...do not know what to do!!!!

I was sitting with a group of people at a bar. I only knew 4 people out of 8 and the 8 are close friends. While we were chatting they reserved to go out for dinner a week from that day and told me that i should come and made the reservation including me. When the day came, i didnt recieve any call or text from them saying anything about the dinner.
I know its a weird situation that has nothing to do with pick up, but i have been in situations like this alot and i want to know why, after including me in the reservation, they dont call to confirm or to say that the dinner is cancelled.
Do i have lower value than them?
cheers

How close are you to the 4 people you know in that circle? Are they actually your friends or do you just know them? And also, it sounded like you just waited for them to text/call you. And it sounds like they didn't. If I were you, I would've texted them about it the day the reservation just to confirm so I can make other plans if they cancelled. They might have just forgotten about it, but it's still a dick move leaving you in the dark like that. If those 4 people are your friends then I'd talk to them about it and make it clear that I do not like being left hanging. If those 4 people are people you just met, fuck them. Unless they apologize, meet some new people who aren't dicks.

Of course it's a dick move. If my friends made dinner plans with me then left me hanging and I end up eating expired tofu by myself, I'd be pissed. And being left hanging is definitely not the "norm". The "norm" is everyone shows up to whatever was planned and has a good time. This may sound harsh, but it sounds like your friends don't really see you as a person of high value that they need to respect. If they're always making fun of you when you guys are hanging out, then that is especially true. You should probably either find some new friends who will respect you, or figure out what you're doing that's causing them to not respect you and change that. Believe me I used to act like a huge douchebag and none of my friends respected me. Took me years to figure that out and change the way I acted.
