I get an erection around women. It's alright if you have a jacket, but what if you're indoors? And how do I make it go away?

I think everyone gets an erection around women. You can try to slyly reposition it in the "waistband" lol or just be a boss about it and make it known that the girl your talking to turns you on.

I was watching on TV that if you put a something cold at the base of your penis (touching your balls), an erection can go away in seconds. They suggested cold soda cans or beers.

Now, are you going to press a can of soda on your balls in the middle of the classroom? Probably not...but feel free to try it.

When I want to avoid boners, I think of my high school english teacher...boner goes away in seconds lol.

Basically diffuse the sexual thoughts, and concentrate them into something else (or pinch your nuts really hard..the pain will compensate for the erection :).

That sounds like that show on SpikeTV "Manswers"

I've had that problem tons of times, when I'm at work and a girl walks in with crazy cleavage. I either sit down or lean behind the table to hide it.

Sometimes happens when walking on the street, I see a hot girl I want to approach and once everything registers like what she's wearing booty shorts legs and ass look amazing, hard on coming on can't stop got to abort approach that's pretty much what happens....lol

I use to get that on the school bus sometimes (For some fucked up reason)... so what I found is the more I thought about it the more my body created this self fulfilling prophecy... so What I'd do is pinch my arm and concentrate on that pain taking my mind off of my erection and more onto the pain... thus bring down my erection...
a bit sadistic but what ever gets your mind off it... cos you know when you start worrying about it. its just going to happen more

I think it's just natural for most, if not all, men to be totally honest with you.
As you say, if you've the right clothing on it's not too bad to hide if you're going to feel embarrassed about it.

If you're comfortable with the female you've got 'hard' for so to speak, and she's comfortable around you of course, I guess it shouldn't be too much of a problem to let your little beast flow around until he's either getting put to good use, or has just lost all momentum.

If you are perhaps in a situation when you're wearing a pair of shorts when you get an erection, and it's quite visibly noticeable then I would suggest doing something along the lines of pinching yourself, biting your tongue etc. This would focus your mind of other parts of your body and should, hopefully, get rid of your rock on! :)

Dude it's your mind giving you that erection, you can totally control it by practicing not focusing on the actual erection.
