Usually at some point in a conversation, she might tell me "you're cute" or "you're too funny" etc. Problem is it goes straight to my head, and the rest of the interaction goes down :(. What should I do o prevent this? Be passive? Throw a C+F comment?

when a girl compliment you, it is an ioi. She is expressing her interest and now your ignoring it would be an iod, and you c+f would seem weird because that might be a geniune compliment. So here what you should do when you get a compliment,
smile and say," thanks that you noticed it"
then forget it and continue gaming as usual

I got told best response is to just take the compliment say 'thank you' and continue the conversation. That shows:

1. You're confident enough to accept the compliment without it getting to your head.
2. You're down to earth, not big headed and probably used to being complimented.

She will pick up on this confidence in you..

Hint (she will love it)

EDIT: Don't compliment her straight back.. or at all. For many reasons.

i dnt agree with, "dnt compliment her back" that depends on the situation. In fact you can compliment her back
example
her: you are so funny, i like that
you: and you know what i like about you
her: what?
You: i like the way you smile, it's just so refreshing to see happy and smiling faces, most of the people don't use their smile and let their true feelings be expressed.
So what's wrong here? Nothing.

Say "thanks", smile, continue with what you just said.

She reads-between-the-lines: this guy is real and confident, he is used to be complimented, he has a strong personality.

If you're talking about what I said. I didn't say don't compliment back I said don't compliment straight back. She will read this as you're only complimenting her because you received a compliment. It will also destroy the conversation process.

Only compliment when you genuinely feel it is necessary.. if at all. And don't over do it. One compliment is enough especially if they are 'fit and they know it' types.
