When introducing yourself, do you use a false name? IE: Mystery, Style, etc... People always use them in the community, but i'm wondering how many people actually use them in the field. I always say i'm Omalie (ficticious), and I get a lot of mixed responses. A lot of girls respond positively with stuff like "Oh wow, that's such an awesome name", or "OMG i've never met anyone named Omalie", but I also get a lot of girls calling me out and saying that it's not a "real" first name. What are some ways of handling this? Usually I just continue to say it's my name, and if they keep pestering me I show them my fake drivers license, which clearly says Omalie. I'm just wondering if there could be a better way to handle the situation and take advantage of the IOI by returning interest or DHVing. I'm just assuming it is an IOI when they continually bring the subject back up/ won't let a fake name slide (reinitiate conversation). Any thoughts on that? P.S. I don't believe i'm getting called out as using a fake name because i'm incongruent with it. Omalie Cat has been a nickname i've gone by for years. I go by this alias everywhere besides school and home. |

Your doin it wrong. When I fake a name its to DRAW ALL ATTENTION TO ME. Once that has happened I usually go "im just kidding, you guys are so gullible". Now I have ALL attention, ALL mystery, and a fun tease in about 2 lines (although i pick something belivable for a name) |

I have in the field on occasion. I just tell them I am "Diesel" which in retrospect I should have used as my name in here...and then sometimes I use my name. Depends on the girl, some find it adventurous and exciting, some find it cliche and dishonest.

In my defense, Omalie (pronounced O'Malley) isn't too far a stretch as a first name, and the name is drawing attention. I just want to make sure to use the attention in the most positive way possible.

If you have a real nickname, that other people have given you and call you, yeah I guess you can eventually bring it up. My buds sometimes call me DJ Z, so if we're out and music comes up as a conversation topic I'll mention it. But I think it takes a dangerously large ego to just come up with some spy novel nickname and refer to yourself by it when meeting women. |
