Post subject:  the reilability of friends?

heres the basics,in an attempt to get with this girl from my class, I end up talking to a friend of hers which is a guy. The conversation goes I ask how well he knows her,he says very well. I then ask if she was single and he shakes his head which follows by a "shes not?' and a continuation of the head shaking. I walk away dejected, but then I start to think, can I really trust this guy?i mean, theres no way of knowing if this guy had a vested interest, considering that this is probably a fellow friend zoner. SO I ask the following questions:

1. Am i being paranoid?
2. should I just hear it from her mouth directly?

i'd say yes on both 1 and 2..

Even tho he might really like her and just gotten friend zoned i dont think he would lie about it to keep you away. (this from personal experience where i have been the friend zoned guy i would still say the truth, both couse the girl would not like it if it came out that i had lied about it, and that when you are friendzoned you prettymuch give up hope about it and move on while enjoying having a good friend)
