Ok so I'm not really into the whole dating thing but i've always been curious about this. First date, you don't really know the girl, you don't want to buy her affections, I have always stood by this. Say you are both at a bar to get drinks, how to you 'nicely' tell her to buy her own drink?

She'll assume you are going to buy her one but that isn't my style. I've gone over how I could do it in my head but they are all rude and will make her think I'm a dick. So guys any suggestions on this and any similar situations where she expects you to pay for her e.g. cinema tickets.

You just buy your drink and walk away , women will never ask you why you didn`t you buy me a drink unless its a girl you just meet

tell her that you do not want to buy her affection and that you have a rule to never buy a girl a drink unless you know them.

Girls like a guy who has his own values and can stand up for what he believes in. You will be different from all the other guys and will have higher value in her eyes.

Then maybe the next time you buy her a drink she will feel that she is of more value to you and she will really like you a lot more for buying her a drink rather then just getting a free drink from a guy she barely knows.

Just buy the chick a drink. If she's cool she'll offer to buy the next round.

I like noochies response there....it's honest and conveys the right message.
Just to add to to golddusts question when at the bar with a girl do you think its ok to do rock paper scissors and thumb wars for drinks winner gets a drink?

This topic is always big in PU circles because all the guys come from the 'team' that bought buckets of drinks as leverage for pussy. They didn't get any. So now they think it's shit. Then they develop all this philosophical nonsense about 'making her earn it', 'don't want to buy her affection', etc . . . to make it all make sense to them.

Look . . . HAVE FUN. You're also talking about a date and not a PU situation.

A drink? 7 fucking bucks at a TGIF or 10 bucks at an average city night club? Come on . . .

@noochie, I appreciate the spirit of your post but sitting there at a first date telling her about your rules and policies and habitual idiosyncrasies is just . . . bad. (I can't think of any other word, sorry.) I know a few accountants who'd be turned off by this gesture.

Haha yeah you can do that. It's fun and lighthearted and should make her giggle. Just make sure that you win! :D

good post and totally agree. I was just giving him a response based on his own moral values. If he truly doesn't want to buy the girl a drink then this would be the best way to do it. Who knows it could work out great for him.

If the waitress asks for the check just tell her to split... the girl will never ask why u split...

If u get the drinks directly u can buy the first round... make her buy the second... seriously, if u get the first round and the girl is not offering another one I usually don't want to hang with them any more anyways. So if she's not mentioning it by her own - just ask, so u are getting the next round? If she's not, grab ur stuff, stand up and walk out. Well, don't forget to wish a good night ;)

I usually don't care buying the drinks when I'm on a meet up with a girl... I think that's part of being a man and I never had a problem with the bounce back by spending 10 bucks on the first drink of the night.

In a club... well here I never buy girls a drink! No matter what... if a girl asks, I tell them exactly what noochie mentioned before.

Real story: We have been to a club in Chicago with Bottleservice and the waitress came over and told me she needs a drink... I told her that should be easy for her, cause she is the waitress... she replied that she always gets drinks by some guys.
I told her my 'no drinks for girls rule' and she was kinda pissed but still was hanging around and talked about her getting drinks and then talking about her boyfriend and bla.
I made up a little game and made her deserve the drink later (after she was really suffering for one :D ) well I didn't recognize anything from her boyfriend later that night if u know what I mean ;)

It's always a point of presentation... u can also say something rude as long as u come along funny and cocky. Girls will just punch u and think it was a joke till u proof it wasn't. Hehe.

Hope this helps,

cheers

actually in Sweden 1 drink is about 19 us dollar // 13 euro :P

personally i don't buy drinks for a girl at a nightclub couse i just don't se any reason to.
if a girl asks me to buy her a drink her value drops quite alot in my eyes, that is not the kind of person i am interested in meeting.
and as for a date.. well i don't bring a date to those places :P i rather bring them to my place / go to her place, cook dinner and watch a movie or so

don't go on "dates"

let her know she can have the pleasure of hanging out with you

changes the whole dynamic
