I was just thinking. And this has happened a few times to me, and I've done it countless times to others...its a real kick in the self esteem too especially when other people are in the group. When you are talking, then the person you are talking to either looks away, or turns and talks to someone else. Sometimes when in large talking groups, you see this happen with alphas and people trying to qualify themselves. Every once in awhile I sit back and observe in the group, I see a person talking to the/one of the alphas in the group, then the alpha either just zones out, walks away or turns and talks to someone else...the person talking usually either stops, tries to get back into the conversation or continues talking to someone close who was possibly listening to the conversation also. I kind of laugh when I see it xD. But when it happens to me, god. I want to go into a hole and cry xD. But for some reason everytime it does happen, i say "Ohh, okay then (laugh and smile)" usually smiling and laughing at the other people watching since there is always one person listening to the conversation in a large group. I don't know what effect this has on the others though. Because most the time the other people either smile back, laugh with me and then we have our own conversation anyway. But sometimes it seems to me it doesnt work and then seems to DLV. I want to hear your opinions on the alpha male, and different conversation "nut kickers" |

I think that your method is pretty good. Something to the effect of "Ok.." in a sarcastic tone and then continue your conversation with other people without a hitch, or if you want to punish the AMOG you could be say something like "Classy," and then continue your conversation. You can use this same thing effectively. Not long ago I was locked into a set as the alpha and an AMOG rolls up starts talking, I'm just trying to have a good time so I try to get into the conversation but he keeps eye contact with an HB in my set (dumbass). At that point I basically closed him out of the set, turned my back and I was still in the middle of the conversation, but I refused to make eye contact. Everyone will catch on and shut the AMOG out. |
