| Post subject: | advice on number closing in a tought 3 set... |
alright, i had my wing point out an obvious 3 set that was just begging to be hit. i had my target picked out and moved in. opened with a tattoo issue somewhat relating to what i had overheard the set talking about. i played it well and neg'd the target to the point she was coming back for my attention and decided if she was responding to the neg that fast, that i should push it a little more. i did some random mind games and the target played into them perfectly. i deflected a amog that was tryin to leech off my ice breaking(cuz i tried to difuse him prior to invading the 3 set, knowing this kinda guy would pull that kinda bullshit...my "wing"attempted to occupy him while i moved) i knew it was turning into a good challenge when she started neg'in me, but kept the dominant position...sooner than later, it was time to number close and her and the other 2 friends got up to leave but she left me no way to isolate her for a close...any advice on how to finish a ruined close? |

Firstly, that's a pretty poor opener. It makes you sound like you've been listening in on their conversation and will set off creeper alarms. Secondly, you can't diffuse an AMOG before you open your set. Then he just thinks you're his friend and of course he's going to follow you into a set with girls, you're essentially winging for him. Finally, you do not need to isolate to number close, in fact I never recommend it. See my post in the Routines forum on Speed Closing, for info on how to effectively number close w/o isolation. |
