Hey all, I've been having some trouble lately freezing up in a set or getting caught of guard by something the girl will say. What I mean by getting caught of guard is I just freeze and can't think of something good to say like something witty or funny. I think it just might be my mind set and the particular mood I'm in but what are some tricks or tips that some of you use to kind of get out of being froze up and caught off guard? First of all this is quite common, I think it can be related with approach anxiety but it’s completely normal – especially at the beginning- being nervous when you are talking to a girl. Let’s face it, is not easy talking to a complete stranger and trying to be charming/polite/smart at the same time. Thanks for the links, there is some good info. I think its simply a case of thinking too much and putting the pressure on my self. I will work at it and overcome. |

Why do you have to be witty or funny? Fuck that. If you are naturally not witty or funny, why do you force yourself to be? Chances are, the girl will notice you're trying too hard and she will think something not too positive about it. Some people say you GOTTA be bright and smart and witty and funny and whatever in order to wet the madmoiselle's pantaloons. Truth is, there is no ONE TRUTH. Do whatever the hell you want. In fact,you probably would be doing a favor to yourself if you told her: I'm not witty or funny, but this is who I am. Take me or leavre me. Either she gon like you or not, but pretending to be something you're not is like trying to sell watered-down gasoline for the price of regular, and then the customer later on finds out that she purchased something falsely advertised. Better to be upfront from the start. Just my opinion. |

Thanks for the input Alex. Truthfully I am pretty quick witted and good humoured. However, I guess my post originally was coming from a stand point as of lately. It almost seems like Ive "lost it" a little bit. But I think it could quite simply be that I'm thinking too much about it and not just being myself in the first place. Exbar. |
