Right - I'm a serial online dater. I can literally get so many dates I don't know what to do with them. The last few weeks I've taken out a different girl on about 3 nights each week. I could probably schedule more but I've got other stuff to do. This isn't the issue though. I can't seem to get any progress in the dates. I've tried cracking a few jokes - they generally laugh, I use some kino (hand on the lower back at the bar, pick some "fluff" out of her hair, make up some bullshit reason to hold her hand for a bit). I generally open them up, get them talking, I get the feeling they are enjoying the conversation, there are few, if any, awkward silences. All the time though at the end of the night it comes to the part where we say our goodbyes and NO KISS, no escalation at all. I always get the sense that it all hasn't come off and generally I don't phone them back to save myself the bother of being rejected. I'm not looking to get laid on the first date (although it would be nice!) just some appreciation that I'm not a total failure. For the record I'm pretty fit, decent muscles, good job, well groomed etc. Am I missing something? |

Do you offer your dates an excuse to come back to your place? "Do you want to come back to my place for another drink?" "Want to go back to my place and play backgammon?" "I just bought this new XYZ, you should come by and check it out" "What would you like to do now? We can either go get ice cream or we can head back to my place to watch a movie." I think that would help you. -Wolf |

I was there. Check out my guide in "how to nail those online dates" in the online section. |

I generally dislike goodbye kisses on first dates. Kiss them before goodbye. That way you might even have a chance for a SNL. Also...as stated above, give them excuses to come over. If you really can have so many dates and they are really enjoying themselves and giving you IOIs then all the problem is just that you don't go for it because you're afraid of rejection. Rejection is good. It is the only way you can calibrate. |
