| Post subject: | How to make great DHV stories without bragging? |
I dont have a boring life by anymeans, i surf, i race dirtbikes, ive travelled to alot of countries and my job involves working on live power poles 20m in the air. BUT! For the death of me i can never conjure up any good stories, i mean i can think of some things, but theyre never long enough and im always afraid that i come off as bragging. So im asking, what are some guidelines that i can mold my stories to? I mean, how do you guys do it? Any help appreciated... |

I don't get why you're having trouble, man! You seem like you've got a slew of great stories waiting to spill out. Honestly, I just let the girls do most of the talking. They like to do it anyway. A guy who listens is better than a blowhard. Whenever they say something that I can add to, I wait until they finish talking (if they finish, lol) and insert some minor details. Most likely, she'll have something more to say when you're done. And if you can't come up with something to add, make the conversation about her. Comment on a tattoo she has or ask her about her shoes (pointing and smiling ... "So did they have a sale at Macy's last weekend or what?") DHV'ing isn't necessarily about making yourself look better by telling her. You have to realize that you can communicate that you're the coolest fucker on the whole planet by just your demeanor. A confident male doesn't need to verify himself. He already knows he's the best. If the opportunity arises, add to the conversation, but just make sure you're having a good time, and she will, too. It's about the mindset, not what you can regurgitate about yourself. That's just my opinion, though. |

Maybe work on your delivery more? Often its not the words coming out your mouth but the way you say them. I think the only way that you could make a story about your travels or fixing cables up in the air sound boring is by poor delivery. Try working on voice tonality, gestures and facial expressions, they should definately help |

I've never had to or felt the need to use DHV stories. Mainly because I don't know how but that doesn't matter because I end up with the girl anyway. No idea why but I've never seen the point in them. |

To me the essence of DHVing is to demonstrate that you have a wicked and fulfilling life, with or without the bird your talking to. Its simple: if your life would be better with her in it then she has higher value. That may secretly be true but, the image you should be trying to project is 'My life is cool and I enjoy it as a single man.' If done properly she should start to see you as being more valuable, her life improved with you in it and then the job is done. So work on stories about the things you love and why you love them. Use emotive words... for me travel is my biggest drawcard as Ive been to some wicked places. Let us know how you go. |
