Post subject:  Group sets make me anxious

Ok, so after a few weeks of cold approaches, night game practice, etc, I have found the one thing that really gets me. When I go out, I get too nervous to approach big groups. I can talk to a girl by herself, two girls, that's no problem. Throw a guy into that group and I just talk myself out of it. I always assume the guy is a boyfriend/husband, and I have no desire to deal with such a situation. Back when I first practiced with indirect opinion openers, this was no problem at all. But I have tried to shift to a more direct game, which I would think would make conflicts like that much more apparent.

It's irrational to assume every girl is there with her fiance, but maybe I'm missing something. Are there good, direct ways to deal with mixed sets?

here are some ideas if you want to try them out,

1)pick a list of shitty jokes that you know will bomb (we used to do muscle jokes, e.g. got your tickets? too the gun show haha, oh you like that one?, you hear about the escape at the zoo?, they're lookin for these pythons!! haha fuck yeah, ohh want some more? etc. etc.) just keep segueing into more and more shitty jokes until the group blows you out,

2)if your plan is to SOI a mixed set, you can just get permission first from the guy, or SOI and compliment the guy on a good job,
e.g. Hey guys, Just came over to hit on this hottie right here (point to girl) is anyone going to punch me in the face? yes? alright cool, well have a good day!

OMG dude great work on landing such an amazing hottie, how did you get such an amazing girlfriend? (at this point if it is not her bf and she is interested, she will blow him out, and you can just say sorry man :D, and continue hitting on her)
