I'm wondering what the best method to follow up a good neg is because I was caught last night throwing another neg too soon instead of another great way to show a DHV and I came off as an asshole.. I figure a question to the target's friend and display of dis-interest in the target would be better or if it's better to go in to some sort of DHV story about yourself instead. If a DHV story is better where's a good place to start?

Appreciate the advice....

I like the way that dress looks on you, but it just reminds me of my couch at home.... I think she may have been a 7 or lower that's why she got insulted

A better way to have put that would be something like "That's a nice dress...I think I've got a couch made out of the same material!" then you reach out your hand a bit and then stop and look at her as if you just remembered she was a person and you have to ask her permission first, and make a gesture like "is it ok if i feel your dress?" or say "do you mind?" then rub the material between your fingers and nod to yourself, then say "yep...that's the stuff" or "nope...my couch is a little softer" or something depending on how much you need to neg her to bring her self esteem to the right level.
