What is the proper terminology for this line of conversation: I think of it as setting someone up for a response, or manipulating a persons mind to think of certain things that can be used for your benefit, like for instance.. Tell someone a story about how someone on the news did a very generous thing, ask them if they think that's great (they can't say no), then ask them for something you would like, (something that a generous person would do). o btw.. can you give me a ride to the airport? Lets say they have been sky diving, you comment: remember how you felt the first time you did it, you felt alittle scared, alittle unsure, nervous, etc.. but you did it because you're an adventurous person who isn't afraid to try new things and it turned out to be the greatest thing you've ever experienced. Then you pull her to the bathroom to have sex. Lets say I want a someone to buy me a drink or pay for dinner. I start a conversation about karma and how good things come to people who do nice things for other people. Then I ask them the last time they "paid it forward". Then continue with a little normal conversation then in the most normal way possible ask them to buy or pay for whatever you want. Its like you get people into the "right state of mind" and while in that state of mind they are more or less likely to do certain things. Its like I want the "target" to feel certain emotions that are of benefit to me. What they of PUA game theory or branch or whatever covers this type of conversation or persuasion? Ideally I would like someone to direct me to a book where I can read about the subject. |

It's a part of NLP. That's called "leading". I call it "projecting" too. Leading is when you draw their mind across a specific path you want to take them down. You lead them along. Projecting is when you place the path under their feet when they haven't even gone anywhere. |
