hey guys im currently in a sticky situation, basically i need a date for my formal or prom as im currently in my last year of high school. So theres a girl that im interested in and i can sense that she is interested too but as our major exams are coming soon we are both busy, even though its holiday now ( australian school's holiday system have 4 holidays in a year) we have to study for our trial exams. I invited her to come to double date kinda with my friend and his gf and it was not successful but she did say she could come out after the trials, so what should i do now? our holiday have another week left, i was thinking i could either text here again to have some casual convo, ask her to come study with me as i have to go to the library anyways or do nothing until her trials have passed. the formal is near september but realistically i have alot of things to do in between.. so which option should i pick or do you guys have better suggestions? |

just keep on upselling the date or the prom. but remember about the trials and respect the time. maybe invite it immediately after it :) |

Dude, you both are studying, right? Then why not together? And then why not take breaks together? Sounds to me like you're really into this chick but you are getting tunnel vision for your end game (the formal)... My advice is to build up the relationship and then let it escalate and do it prior to the formal. This is how I would do it. I'd call her and tell her I'm having trouble grasping some stuff (stuff that you know she is super smart in). And then ask if she can help you quick and then you'll help her if she's having trouble. Make it a work session, build some more mutual respect and then smooth your way into another study date the next day by saying "It's great to have someone to study with... It keeps me sane.. lol..." Then if she agrees say, "I'll see you the same time tomorrow then?" More than likely she'll be down if she really likes you. Then the next day start off the same way, hitting the books hard but once you both get bored say "Alright I'm starting to tap out... Come grab something to eat with me quick"... (Should say yes if you time it right) Then go out start getting her mind off of exams by keeping it fun, then when you can see her letting loose say "Thanks for the help I really do appreciate it. Who knows I might even pass this thing thanks to you...! You have to let me repay you..." Then work the formal invite into after that... Try saying something like "You should let me take to you to the formal... There's some friends of mine going and it sounds like we could both use some fun after all this stress... Would you like you to go with me?" I think that would work for me, but everyone is different. Hopefully it gives you some ideas on thought process and setting up all your moves in advance so the whole come on looks more natural than pressured. Last thing you want to do to a girl that is obviously under a lot of pressure is to put her under more pressure. Most of the time they'll ignore you just to keep from dealing with it, but if you de-escalate her emotions you could get her guard down enough to work your way in. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. |

Bro I feel you, prom dates suck. I went to mine by myself because I didn't have the guts to ask out any girls at all! I know if I did then I would've had a good chance but I was a pussy. Time to change! |
