There's often a difference between your "rating" of a girl, and her self-perceived value. I really hate the rating system, but for simplicity's sake: say you deem a girl to be a "6" ... due to all the male attention from this increase in social network sites and online dating, that girl can easily strut around with a perceived value of being a 7 or 8, and act accordingly. Just as likely, your "8" can have major self esteem issues, and perceive herself as a 7 or 6 ... In my opinion: never base your decision of how hard to neg a girl on how hot you think she is. Base it always on her self-perceived value.

Yes, it's easy to overdo it on the internet- another reason why you should avoid using it as a gaming tool. You're a lot more cocky behind a screen.. a lot more witty. If she's attracted to this and decides to meet you, you're most likely going to disappoint her if you're not all that and then some. With that being said, it's also hard to pull off these negs online, because there's no tonality of voice, no facial expressions involved... what you say can be taken the wrong way.
From what I've seen on here, a lot of guys neg all wrong- perhaps we should stop calling them negs, and start calling them backhanded COMPLIMENTS; that should clear up some of the confusion. In any case, I would stay away from anything to do with her weight, as blondguy said; but as far as looks go- just yesterday my boyfriend was staring at me...

As far as age goes, I would only avoid it if she's over say... 25. Just to be safe. And again with race, it depends. Weight would be the only thing I'd say avoid at all costs.
