Girl I've known for a year or two but had good chemistry with, I noticed she broke up with her boyfriend recently so sent a little message on Facebook asking how things were going, hows life etc, she mentioned she had broken up with her long term boyfriend. I suggested catch up drinks and she said "yeah that could be just what I need actually, I'm just trying to stay happy at the moment" I suggested tomorrow and she returned with "I'm busy all day tomorrow" It seemed kind of blunt. Shall I leave it a day or two, or just suggest another? I think she might be thinking it's too soon to go for a drink with a guy, is there a non intrusive way of asking this question? |

What do you mean that you know her? Do you see her within your social circle or are you just friends on facebook? |

She was in my social circle maybe 4 years ago, since then we've barely spoke. |

After around four years you reach out to her and suggest catching up. If you were friends that met outside the circle at times, she would probably take a meet up more seriously. The longer that time passes between acquaintances, the less they care about catching up. The thing you can probably try is getting her talking about the past when you guys knew each other, people, and events. The whole point is getting her to care about hanging around with you before you make the suggestion. |
