Since day 2 flakes are a reoccurring issue, even for advanced PUAs, I think it's a good idea to devote a thread to flake excuses and clever responses. I'll start. Me: we're meeting at the bar at 9PM. Her: my veterinarian just told me that my cat only has 6 months to live, I'm going to stay in tonight with the cat. Me: aww, so sorry. Me: wait, you're going to stay in every night for the next 6 months?! (Rescheduled day 2) |

I would be careful with that specific situation because the chick is definitely sad about her cat, and your final text appears sarcastic, which is not emoting to her. That being said, for girls that do not respond to the initial message or fall off at some point, I like to send a Marilyn Monroe quote (literally all of them work). The most recent one is: "I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Every girl either knows what that is from or thinks it is cute and it converts to dates I would otherwise not have had. |

How about this one: She seems very into me and excited to hang out in the initial interaction, and then an hour before d2, she says "I can't go out because I have to babysit my nephew." |

If a chick doesn't want to meet up with you no cleaver response is going to suddenly make her change her mind. |

That's a pretty pessimistic way of looking at it. I've had plenty of situations where a girl gave me an excuse and was going to flake, but I turned it around by giving her a logical reason why her alternative action would be less enjoyable than hanging out with me, or by suggesting that we do her alternate action together.

I have field tested this, and it worked both times. The girl who originally flaked will either wind up coming out later on to meet you and her friend, or she will text you constantly asking what you are doing, and then be very vigilant about meeting up the next day. |

What Warped said is correct with minor exceptions. I have a couple of hail marys that have turned a marginally interested flaky chick back into a date then back into a f-close but that's far more the exception than the rule. If your comeback text is really just asking for a logical explanation or to be included in the activity at best you just set yourself up for a low interest level date which will certainly never end in a f-close. |

Quote: that is just one technique, it is not 100% effective. It's better to have multiple techniques, rather than to rely on the same technique for every situation. No technique is 100% effective. You are going to experience flakes and it happens and it's no big deal. If you are spending time learning how to turn a flake back into a date, you are wasting a lot of time. Your focus should be on building a rapport that will make the girl not want to flake on you. That improves your pick up skills.Another possibility is to freeze her out and ask her friend to come out with you instead. I have field tested this, and it worked both times. The girl who originally flaked will either wind up coming out later on to meet you and her friend, or she will text you constantly asking what you are doing, and then be very vigilant about meeting up the next day. The stronger the rapport, the less likely she is going to flake. The stronger the rapport, the more likely she will cancel plans that she had in order to fit into your schedule. |
