Hey everybody, Just a little background - I have been following the community for quite some time, but this is my first outreach on seeking some advice cause I have a pretty sensitive situation (sensitive - important to me in this particular instance). Now I've worked field routines no problem. I've got the looks and the personality, but closing is something I have not had much experience or trial and error with... and so in lies the problem. I am supposed to have a girl I had total oneitis for in high school come over this evening. I haven't seen her, hung out with her or really talked to her in a solid 4 years. A lots changed since then, especially with myself, although I wouldn't be here if it'd all changed as much as I'd liked it to. We were supposed to go out for drinks the other night, although a moving situation proved the time to be impossible, so I suggested "Hey, why don't we grab a bottle and hang around my place tonight." She complied without complaint or even alternative suggestion. I actually got a 'Sounds great!' response. Now I know a lot of you will be thinking "Dude how can you fuck this up?" And well, many ways. This girl is a HB9 (easy), possibly a 10 depending on your rating scales, I had onitis for her when I was an ignorant AFC, and so she's coming over alone to hang out after 8PM on a Friday night to drink... I feel like this is a no brainer, but how would you suggest I close this? Obviously F-close would be awesome, clearly, I'm a guy when would this not, but this is actually a girl I'd totally be open to dating (uh-oh here comes the AFC inside!). How do I create a situation where the F-close isn't a foreclosure of future events, if that's the right move in this case, at all. Thanks a bunch guys! I guess it's a little late to advise you on how to proceed. Simply have a few drinks, talk, escalate, and close. Pretty straight forward in this case since you both seem to be mutually interested in one another. |

Anti-Lay Report: About two hours after she was supposed to meet up with me, she texted me saying she wasn't going to make it anywhere near on time and was believing she wouldn't make it at all, being "hung up" on some stuff in the city she was moving out of. Honestly, I read it as a shit-test and told her not to bother. Not gonna' deal with being blown off, or worse, feeling like I can JUST BE blown off. Other fish in the sea. |

give it a day and offer it again. With the addition, if you cannot make it let me know. say something like you had plans with a friend but would cancel if she is interested. leaving the ball in her court. if she blows you off ignore her, if she chases you it's on. |
