Hey all, first post here. So quick background. Cute girl I'm interested in, had few enjoyable conversations after bar, noted few IOIs. Last week I send her a text, asking her out on an activity (made it sound a bit funny as I challenge her). She read the message same day. Two days later (one day before suggested date) I receive "How many will we be?" response.. Need less to say it's not in my plans to have anyone else. I am not quite how to proceed. Is this a sh1ttest, as I doubt she'd be that clueless not to realize its us two, or should I backout for now as she took good time to bother to reply? |

What kind of activity is it? This could be 2 things: 1. A statement that: I don't want to hang out with you alone 2. A shittest. The only way to find out is to tell her that there will only be the two of you. How you should say that depends on what kind of activity it is. Make a joke about it, and show that you're not emotionally affected by her question. for example: Say that you've invited her for paintball and she replies "How many will we be?" simply answer something like "Well, for starters just the two of us. Being the considerate guy that I am, I wouldn't want to embarrase you infront of everyone!" |

That seems like an odd and delayed response to a straightforward date request. I'm curious as to what the activity is because that may be relevant to her response. But I would take it as a shit test, all things being equal. And in true form, you always respond to a shit test with the opposite of what the girl gives you the impression she wants you to say. For instance, if it was an obvious date request, then obviously it would be just you two. So she's expecting you to say "just us" in which she can then say "it's too soon" or try to use that as an excuse to back out. What you can do is either joke and say "My mom is coming too" or tell her that your buddy and his gf will be there, but you think they'll be leaving early because he has to work later. Just come up with some bullshit that throws her off so she can't use whatever excuse she was trying to draw out of you. |

Hey guys, thanks for replies. I went ahead and replied similar to The Dice's suggestions (sorry puaninja, didnt see yours in time), tell her that it's "us two and lots of fun, that I didn't want to reduce her chances to winning by inviting additional people". She read but didn't reply. I will most likely stumble into her again this week, at this point, most appropriate course of action would be to ignore her and see how it develops? |
