If you want to ask a girl out, you have many ways in which you can do this. The world of social media has provided us with a platform where we never actually have to communicate in person. I believe natural communication; meaning actually hearing the person’s voice is your best option. But, every initial interaction with a woman creates a different circumstance. Before you decide to ask a girl on a date via text or phone, first we need to go over a few different scenarios.
Texting
Shooting out a text to ask a girl out isn’t the worst idea in the world, but I encourage you to only do it when you meet a girl for only a short time. Examples:
• 5 minute chat at the bar
• 5 minute chat during the day
• Super drunk conversation
• Quick introduction from a friend
A short conversation usually doesn’t result in a deep connection so it would be a risk to give her a call. She might not remember you and not care to pick up the phone. Women can be sensitive to men they just meet. It’s not always 100% comfortable for them to answer the phone and have a conversation with a guy they quickly met at the bar. Sending a text ensures a more comfortable approach this day in age and is more likely to result in a response. Type something like:
“Hey, (insert nickname here), hope you got home okay. What trouble are you causing this week
”Throwing in a nickname may spark her memory of you and the following question is a flirty way to say hello. Also, make sure you text them the next day. Yes, the next day! Don’t abide by the “three-day rule” that most men adhere to. Instead, make sure she remembers you. If she’s a beautiful girl, then most likely she’s texting with other men, so a late start might cost you and you many never receive a response.
Calling
This is the preferred method to ask a girl out. Most women don’t receive phone calls these days. Since a majority of our communication is going digital, men have used this as an excuse not to pick up the phone. The ones that do make a phone call get major points. Wouldn’t you like to be that guy? You can!
Opposite from sending a text, make sure you made a stronger connection with them after a longer period of time in conversation. After talking with them for at least 15 minutes in your initial meeting, it would be very appropriate to give them a ring in the next day or so. If they don’t answer, leave a voicemail. Trust me, they will be happy you called. It shows confidence, which is the most attractive trait to women. If they haven’t called you back in 4-5 days, then it would be appropriate to shoot them a text. You never know if they forgot to call you back or didn’t ever check their voicemail. Reminding them that you’re around should urge them to respond. If by this time they don’t respond, then something went wrong with the initial interaction. Remember, there’s always next time.
