Make your first move through text. Don’t phone. If she interested in you, she’ll answer a text, but many women won’t answer unexpected calls. If this happens a couple times, you end up with a devil’s choice: if you keep calling, you’ll seem desperate and stalkerish, but if you don’t, she’ll forget about you.
Get in touch within 24 hours. The rule used to be to call the next day. With texts, you can start the conversation the same night. In fact, Braddock and Mr M came up with a way of starting the text flirting while you’re still in the initial conversation with her. This makes you part of her reality and it’ll feel “normal” when you chat the next day. It’s also great for sexualizing the conversation for same-night situations.
Sign your texts. Nothing derails momentum more than the “who is this?” response. Sign your first name. And when get her phone number, make sure that she gets yours – so your name will pop up instead of a random phone number.
Match her rhythm, then vary yours. If she takes 15 minutes to respond to your message, take 15-30 minutes to write back. If you and her message are chatting with messages every couple minutes, then randomly don’t respond for a couple hours once in a while. Let her realize how attracted to you she is.
Make statements; don’t ask questions. While you obviously have to ask questions once in a while, questions tell her nothing about you and place all the burden on her. A lingerie model I used to date called these sorts of texts “like a job interview for a job I didn’t apply for and don’t even want.” Statements tell her about you, and don’t seem needy because they don’t demand a response
