Why won't canned openers work? :p
Opinion openers work any time, any place so you can use those. I'm a personal fan of "Do you guys actually think Mick Jagger is hot, I mean he's in that Kesha song right?" or "So last night we were out and like 3 or 4 men hit on my friend, does he look THAT gay?". For the second one your friend doesn't even have to be near you, just point him out.
Gambler's BL openers work to, make eye contact with her and hold it while doing a slight wave, or raise your drink to her or something, make sure you smile. Then later just go up and say "how have you been?" and go from there. Because you've said "How have you been" instead of just "Hi" or using an opener, her friends will assume she already knew you from somewhere and lower their guard to you. This one is brilliant for AMOG'ing
