| Post subject: | Club/Bar approaches for a newbie |
I posted in the introductions forum but I wanted to post a separate thread here for more specific advice about approaches. I'm a 22 year old guy. Some friends of mine just told me they want to go to a club/bar tomorrow night. Apparently there is some dubstep thing going on. I have no idea what dubstep is, but I guess it's some type of music. They also want to go again on Friday when this place is playing some house music. I know it sounds a bit lame, but bear with me. This will be totally out of my element, but I want to go and try to become more social. I've never really been in a club before. I'm not a competent dancer at all, and so I've never tried to approach a girl for dance. I don't want to look too creepy just scouting the area for a girl to dance with or just randomly grinding against a girl. But I also don't want to be the guy sitting in the corner. What are some strategies you guys would have for club newbies? Not even necessarily to hookup or number close, but just to get some basic interactions going and get my confidence up a bit or getting someone to dance with. I'd really appreciate any help. |

I listen to alot of electronic music, n my best friend is a dj. Dubstep is more grimey rock influenced techno music. Alot of wobbely base lines n just great dirty electronic SPAM. House is standard pop songs with electronic twists added. There are alot of lyrics, n it is the same basic format as pop music, its just uptempoed. Next, with these types of situations, shit just flows. Learn to be open n really let go of yourself n anything you are holding on to. When you do, you will lose yourself in the crwd, n shit will happen. I don't know how to better put it than, when you let go you become part of something much more. You will find yourself just coming in contact with girls you dig n it flows. There are no routines n shit necessary, just become a part of the group n play your role. It will work out. It always does. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xat1GVnl8-k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU75uz0b8EU This is cool dubstep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4ftgvze1SY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m9Hnr4MoMU this is dubstep i dont like. So ye, on topic: I can't dance to dubstep, so no idea how to do it. Try to dance like other people I think (which will be hard, saw some dubstep dance videos, and I just couldn't do anything like it on the same speed). If u wanna see the videos, gimme a PM or something so u know what it is like. As dubstep is out of my league too, and I actually got no Idea how to look happy on there, I'm not gonna comment there. As for the house, what works for me, in the netherlands, is when a cool beat pops in, start fistpumping (jersey shore style) with a mate. Because fistpumping is not in out here, everyone will look at you. and if you look like you're having fun alot of people will watch. Just look happy and like you're just there for fun. most of it has to go non verbal on dancefloor because the music is too loud. I recommend reading 1-vt33587.html?postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 for alot of tips, it helped me alot first time I tried it, and juicy and other people have amazing tips! |

For the dubstep part... There is one thing I can tell you. Don't worry about it! I go to the same nightclub every thursday night and they sometimes play dubstep. Since I am usually dancing on the huge stage, I can see basically everyone on the dancefloor! How to dance to dubstep? I have absolutly no idea! Funny part about that? I know about 99% of PEOPLE out there doesn't know how as well! It's hilarious to see everyone dancing completly randomly. No body's follow the same beat! So... Just don't worry about it! For the house music, I agree about the fist pumping! It works well if you are not very comfortable with dancing yet. Just... Don't forget... to have some fun. If you look like you're having one hell of a time, you WILL have one hell of a time. Just enjoy your night out! Why would people even go out if it wasnt to have some fun? That's what people on this forum tend to forget! |
