Self-development-improvement is a perpetual (God I love this word) process You need to constantly monitor your conversations. Sounds too much? Really simple actually. Whenever you get one of these responses: "what?" "Can you repeat that? "Can you speak louder / more clearer?" It's a sign you are talking A - too fast B - Not loud enough C - Not clear enough / swallow your words Whenever this happens, it should raise a (little) red flag. "OOPS! Did something wrong here! Now let's fix ..." Now you play the last sentence you said in your head. Here something very interesting happens. You'll notice WHY the other person didn't understand. What you did wrong. It will be really clear whether you did A, B, or C of the mistakes. Now, repeat the sentence again, and do a little overshooting to correct the mistake. Might sound like an exhausting thing to do, but it's really just a question of 'flippin' the switch and be conscious and aware of this problem. I used to be misunderstood (vocally) a TON of times a day. One day I figured I should do this exercise. Two weeks later - BAM. Almost never happens again. Try it! If there;s something unclear le'me know. - Adam "Vocal Projector" Jovani |
