Yes you are right, but the point is that these lines are bashed because they are often used genuinely. Were as you are being satricial about these lines. A lot of people do this. If you as a person are good at displaying when your joking then you could probably be as successful with these lines as much as you will be unsuccessful.
Just as an example you could go round dressed as a geek, you could see it as a joke and as long as you show everyone else around you that you are aware of what you are ridiculing, then people will often join in (not all people though). Same applies to what you want to do with pick up lines. Bitches and such will tell you to go fuck your self...creep.
Because a lot of men do what you do, they use pick up lines loosely and display that they are aware of how foolish they are.
So basically you need to use these lines on girls with a sense of humor (Obvious I know
). I say this because as I have said, this will fall flat a lot with many girls, so be prepared for that.
