Now, maybe this has been covered in here somewhere already, I must admit I havn't qutite plowed through the entire forum.. So, I'm curious about something. Since openers are mostly about asserting yourself and well.. generally exude confidence, is it possible to act shy to start an opener? For example, start with: "You must be tired, cause you.. fell er.. from the.. shit!" (walk away, go back after a little while) "Alright, alright, you must be an angel cause your father stole.. wait... damnit!" (walk away again, come back) "Alright, screw it.. Hi, I'm Peter." Or... has anyone tried any variations of this? Is it even a good idea, since it might make you well.. seem shy, though some girls like that, I guess. |

It makes you look like you try hard. Remember, you are the prize, and you shouldn't show that you care about what you say. Anyways, my two cents. |

You know your post gave me an idea, perhaps opening with like 4 or 5 pickup lines merged together like: Is you father a thief? Cause he stole a keg and put it in your pants cause I'd like to tap that ass. And it must of hurt when you fell from running in my head all day. Lol I don't know, but I might field test this just for fun. |

haha i like the idea of that, I think you might need the right type of a girl to actually take it as a joke and joke along. I like to think i have a good sense of humor and i am trying a new one that i always get a kick out of, and has seemed to work: "I was talking to my friend and we were discussing something, and i just wanted to see what you guys thought...So do you think if your going into a revolving door that it is alright to try to squeeze into the same section if you don't know them, or is that a little too much?" I always ask in a light hearted way and they always laugh and give me some sort of an answer and i go from there. |

i agree with schadenfreude we are in PU to avoid using the old "pick-up lines". thats AFC Gooniwoo, in terms of "pretending" to be shy and AFC as an opener u can use old "pick-up lines" as a joke if u make it CLEAR that u were joking. for example, there was a previous post (props to OP) about using the "dating for dummies" book in a library or bookstore to open girls you open the book (wide-open) to the "dont use or say these lines" section of the book and open random girls in the store with the horrible and funny "pick-up lines" while having ur finger tracing the words on ur page then say "wow they are right -these are bad. hahha" (make it clear u were joking C/F and hand her the book) "now it's ur turn!" tada she's opened and having fun using old AFC pick-up lines cheers |

I've tried lines like that in the past and it only worked when the girl was already interested in you. And its a typical AFC opener. If you want to be a PUA don't bother with that kinda of openers. |

you can try it...I will work on some occasions. BUt I would recommend saying this to the least beautiful woman on the set. Talk to her and work uR way up to the hottest. Disarming obstacles/cock block. Good idea. Quote: u dont ever want to come off as shy. shy=beta, confident=alpha.
I saw someone posting that on DD's method of DYD, that you can act as a complete wuss in the beginning and after the opener you can just blow her away. It all depends on what style uR using to be a PUA. Diff PUGs have different philosophies.

I have experienced that it almost doesn't matter what you say, as long as you don't use standard AFC PickUp lines. Try to get a talking reaction from the girl and as DD says, the actual words are not that important (Only 7%(?) of a conversation is made by the words themselves).

Gentleman, I agree with you. Most of what you say isn't comming from your mouth...it's in the energy you pass along (eye contact, smile, body lanquage, etc) I do have a shy opener that I have used once. This was about 8 years ago. I had just got out of bootcamp and was at the mall for the first time in a new city. I walked into Spencers, and one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen was working there. I waited in the store, pretending I was looking for something...5 minutes passed...10 minutes....she knew I wanted to talk to her. Eventually I walked up to her and said, "Excuse me, I've been trying to find something funny to say to you, but I just can't...so, my name is ~Stoli~." We dated for a few months. Great girl, way hot, and bisexual! |
