I've just got back from a night out and had to post this opener that I suddenly discovered, it's so simple I can't believe I never used it before. I'm a smoker, ok not a great habit but that's not relevant here, so anyway I went out without a lighter, and when I was outside in the smoking area I made a point of only asking girls for a lighter, literally just said 'hey do you can a lighter I can use' and then I'd move into one of the standard openers and go from there. I found that it made the girls think I was less odd than when I just walk up and use an opener straight out, so I'm pretty happy. Just wanted to share that. I will admit I'm a total newbie so I'm sure some of the more experienced guys will have some comments, but I found it allowed me to open with absolutely no AA at all. |

I think the reason you didn't have AA is because you guys were doing something in common, which was smoking. And asking for a lighter is very indirect, and you really needed it, and it is backed up by real interest. On the other note, using prepared opener is artificial, you're not really interested in the answer whether which sex lies more, or if the girls saw the fight in the corner. That's why for some reason, it's sometimes it's easier to tell a girl that she is beautiful. But going direct means you have to lower the bitch shield efficiently. I'm not a PUA master but I think this is right. |

it's a lot easier to talk to other smokers outside te bar than people inside. not sure why. something in common, i guess. just wondering about girls asking for cigarettes, i always say no. this at least leads to a bit more conversation and shows you're not a pushover. is it ever ok to give a girl you've never spoken to before a ciggy or is this too chumpy? |

what you did is a pick up line and is used all the time... "hey can i use your lighter".. its a universal pick up line and is well known.. |

im new to all this but how about trying, asking the hb for the lighter and then completely ignoring her whilst u smoke? then u and her will feel more comfortable when u use ur opener inside the club/bar? just a thought and its probably wrong? |

VERY WRONG MY FRIEND... that's a common mistake.. you come off as weird and sketchy that way.. not as hard to get. What you can do along that line, is get a lighter, introduce yourself and engage in small talk for a min.. and then ignore them.. then game them inside (remembering their names is crucial). This is done when girls are outside having some private serious girl talk. You introduce yourself out of courtesy and friendliness, and you sort of back up to show them that you respect their space. you eject with "i'll let you guys finish your convo, great meeting you, i'll see you inside"..
then u and her will feel more comfortable when u use ur opener inside the club/bar? just a thought and its probably wrong? |

If their not in a middle of a convo and they seem to be down to talk with you, then you don't ignore at all.. You just be situational and talk about whats going on inside the club..and take it from there. |
