| Post subject: | Openers for Classes in College |
I've been trying to think of some openers for HB's in my college class. In my psych class there are like 3 HB8.5's and 1 HB9. So I was just looking for some openers if any of you might have some. I saw one of the chicks 2day had blue tips painted on her finger nails. I was going to comment about them and use that as my opener, but she was talking to this guy the whole class. |

if you failed to talk to her the first day of class and she noticed you, i would imagine it will make it very hard to talk to her now. |

Not at all. Dude it's class. Girls want to laugh and enjoy themselves because they are constrained to respect authority in the classroom. It is one of the easiest places to open up because you are going be in that class with that person for a while so you might as well say something! It really doesnt matter. I find it hard for myself sometimes because I have to choose between a few girls that I think are cute. I open up all of them, but narrow in on the one I really want as in the case with my voice class at the moment.Be funny, and dont be afraid to tease them. It also helps if you answer a lot of questions in class and participate, it is a variation on peacocking. Girls like smart guys. An easy way to number close is to just ask a girl for her number in case you are sick and need to get the homework. In fact that can be your opener. 99.9% they will give it to you because you are in school not at a bar or some random place. Or you could ask for their help even if you don't need it. Then disagree with what they are saying and start teasing them about it. |

As long as she didn't notice you, you'll be fine. Just use the opener where you didn't even notice her, cause shes just like any girl.Just be like oh hey, (pretending not to notice her) then Use the false time constraint. FOX |

how is it possible to use a false time constraint in a place like a classroom where you aren't going anywhere?FOX anyways i am sitting in the back of my biology class right now. this HB8 sits next to me so i use a stupid line. "i can't believe the back of this room is the only place with plug outlets." she lets out a little giggle. so i then say oh forget about it. i just realized my mistake. i didn't pose an open ended opinion question. |

Dude, its fucking class, you don't need some bullshit canned opener. Listen to Rythms, hes got the idea. All you have to do is sit next to her, say whats up, crack a joke about your fat professor or something, and start listening/taking notes, after class approach her and open from there with something YOU THOUGHT OF. I'm so sick of people asking for all these specific openers for specific places, JUST TALK TO HER. ITS REALLY NOT THAT HARD, opening in class is no different than opening anywhere else. Grow some cahones! |

wrong. there is a way to do things in a classroom situation as well. openers, IOI's, negs etc don't take a backseat in classroom situations.

participating in class is a big help... it allows you to have something better to do when the conversation hits a slow spot and therefore avoids any awkwardness. Cause if you are indeed paying attention, taking notes and participating you bassically sending out the image that your doing her a favor talking to her since you could easily be working right now on somthing. It also allows you to dive back into note taking for a minute or so as soon as you see the peak of interest, essentially doing a quick push pull and even giving you a little time to consider your progress queitly while taking those notes. As far as what to say just be natural...lines or cheesey openers will hurt your more than help. If you really have NOTHING at all to say then do what you want w/ your knowledge of openers. |

For example, today was my first day of class, I always get there a few minutes early and wait outside talking to people in the halls. My first class this gorgeous latina (9) walks by me and I make eye contact and smile. As she starts to walk in I said, "HEY! Where do you think you're going....?" She turns and looks at me, with a confused look on her face. So I continue talking, "...Without me". I then walk up to her, take her hand and guide her to the back of the classroom where two empty desks are. BANG. OPENED. That simple. Did I plan that out for days in advance? NO. I made it up right there on the spot. After that she was talking up a storm in the middle of class, almost to the point of getting us both ejected from the lecture. It's really that simple. |

It's really that simple. |

Someone mentioned to participate in class... I'm not sure about this one. There is social and then there is nerdy... Don't cross the line. I have great grades at my college, but I am not about to confess to everyone I know the answers. Let them wonder and occasionally surprise everyone by saying something smart. As for a canned opener, if you ABSOLUTELY need one, I like "Hey, so do you want to meet up and do homework later or do you just want to do mine for me?" |

Yeh i did say participate but i don't mean call out answers...its more about just acting like you are somewhat paying attention from time to time. Completely shutting off the class and just zoning in on the girl will only hurt you.
