Post subject:  Girl in My Group Project but we've never talked

So there's this group project in my summer math class. We got to pick our groups and I got into this group (pretty much all girls) thru a friend of mine. There's this other girl whos gunna be in the group who is probably an HB8. We've never really talked that much. We were in a study group for a test a few weeks ago and I helped her with a problem but I couldnt really follow up on it.

Anyway, so we're all meeting up on Monday to do this project. There will probably be like 6 people or so in the group. How do I go about trying to interact with this girl without alienating the rest of the group? What are some things I can say in this situation? Should I even be trying any "game" in this context given that everyone will being trying to work and it may seem awkward? Help me please before Monday!

Thanks.

Im hoping to end up in a similar situation over summer school. I am planning on treating it as any other set, but toning it down a bit. Be the funny guy.

Attempt of becoming the leader of the group by separating tasks, try find out the strength and weakness of each member, make the decisions. This way you interact with all the members plus show Alpha male straits.

find a new girl. im assuming ur in high school after skimming through that post. Social proof is huge in secondary school - get social proof and the way to gaming begins.

between classes, meet up with ppl, crack jokes with her in the presence of other girls. she will definitely see u as a cool person at the very least. The group project itself may be an opportunity, but if u cant maximize ur game there.. find alternatives and let everything flow natural. social proof in high school does wonders.. more than your words could ever do in 5 seconds.

Hmm u think I'm in HS? Can't be too good for my confidence since I'm actually 22 (and not a 22 y/o in HS).

This is our last project of the semester (there are 3 classes left), so really need to act sorta fast here (can stretch it out over 2-3 classes but can't really play the social circle game here).

Considering there are only very few classes left, I suggest something basic really. In the group, be opinionated. Be the leader of that group and control aspects of the project if you can. It shows you can take initiative. Be humorous and shoot the shit when you can... a few jokes here and there does wonders, but don't be a clown. Make her laugh. On the last class, tell her she seems cool and should join you for a coffee or drink sometime. Hand her your phone about chest level and say something like, "Here. I'll let you know the next time I'm going to (insert venue)".

I forgot to mention that due to previous obligations I have to show up like 45mins or so late (which my friend already knew, I just forgot to mention it here) so I wont be able to delegate jobs for everyone and take charge. I suppose my goal will be to just open dialogue with her. Try to crack a few jokes (suggestions?), maybe even mix in some questions about her as subtly as possible. But I think I need to focus on just breaking the ice here and then trying to move in on a later date. Sound like a good plan?
