So I've been thinking this might be a good opener when combined with a male wingman.

"Hey boys. My buddy and I have been having an argument for a while now. Who would win in a fight? Superman or SPAM?"

Geeky I know, but it gets boys talking and to be honest, I love geeks.

So what do you think?

As a note: I take the SPAM side (Partly to show I like the average guys and don't have crazy high standards) because he has a kryptonite ring that Superman gave him. (I'm a geek. I admit it.)

Oh yeah..! I'd love to get opened like this.. Anyway, sports is always a good subject..

Why would you need a wing for this?

Mostly the wing is to make the boys more comfortable and provide some social proof. Also to back me up or argue against me.

The one time I used this I shouted across the pub to the huge party group I was with so that one of the guys would back me up on the fact that SPAM DOES have a kryptonite ring. That was a big help, so I get the feeling you boys value the idea that a girl is here to have fun, not just pick up boys.

The only problem I see is with the use of boys. Because depending on how you deliver it it can be a turn off.

Nope as your friend can be "anywhere" you like them to be. Most people I doubt will ask where their friend is anyway.

I don't see it as a a bad thing. If the boy aren't willing to accept my geekyness then I'm not interested in them.
I'm a geek. I accept that.
If they can't, then they're not worth my time.

That's true. The wing is optional but I thought it might help.

SPAM. Now think about it, superman's power is that he's an effin alien, SPAM's superpower is money. What beats money? Nothing. :)

In all seriousness, I used to know a guy who opened sets of guys with this exact opener (well, he sometimes switched superman to spiderman), but I think he did it just to be social, not to hit on anyone. The bad thing is that I saw him do it several times, and it got old real fast. When it was the 6th time I had to show my SPAM belt buckle to a bunch of guys I was kinda done with the guy. Now if he would've had the balls to open girls with that, now that would've been intresting.

Well if it makes a boy walk away then that'd be the first one to walk away from me.

But even still, like I said before I'm trying to attract nerds and geeks. I LOVE geeks!

Yeah I like to be "that guy" the one to defy the norm. Ask what's a better operating system Windows or the Apple one whatever that is.

Windows or Mac?

I don't think that 'fun' enough. Also, I don't know enough about Macs.

I know just enough about Superman and SPAM though.

I am not talking about your geekyness. But word choice. Because there where times when I had some girl call me boy and it felt like I was immature or I was a "kid" due to the way the girl said it. And I am just saying that depending on how you say the word boy it can effect your out come with that opener. Thats all.

Oooooooh.
Sorry about that, I totally missed that one.
Yeah, I can see that as being a problem. I tend to use boys and I'm betting one problem I have is that it sounds condescending.
Thanks! I'll start using something more macho. Like guys. ^__^

I can't resist this thread!
I remember a girl asked that when SPAM Begins came out and we talked for hours about it. The important part for you, is to take the opposite side of whatever guy you like. Once a chick says "SPAM's better", I will spend the better part of an afternoon explaining why he's not. You should know a little about the superheros before you use this line though.

As a geek turned pua, I have some insight for you. If you really like geeks, don't get bored when they start talking about computers or science or time travel, or things like that. Stay interested, ask questions, try to follow along, and let them teach you. That's there way of trying to impress you with their knowledge, if you get bored it will hurt their feelings. Your also going to have to be overly blunt and obvious with geeks and be much more tactile and flirtatious than normal.

P.S.
Superman came back from the dead and turned back time... What the F did SPAM ever do?!
