Hi, lets say you are visiting another country or at least another town of your country and want to open on that topic. I mean "hi I am new in town and.." - not necessary in that words, but the topic is that you are new here
Any ideas?

I've also been thinking about this having recently relocated myself. I don't know if I would open with this. I think it would work after building some comfort. I would try dropping it casualy and then use it to get the target out for an instant date, along the lines of: "I'm new here and this place is boring, lets go explore and find a better bar/club/etc... |

Even if you are new here, you are never "new here . . ." This is boring and it's a line used by creepy stylee grease balls all over the World. Even if this place is the most boring place in the World, this place is NEVER "boring". You say that and you're telling the bartenders/waitresses/bouncers/managers/customers that they are ALL boring losers. You say that and you're telling your target that she's a loser. Instead . . . there's nothing wrong with a positive opener like "Wow, this is a cool bar! What are you drinking?" "Blah blah" (Make them the negative person if they want to be. I've been to plenty of bars that serve cocktails in plastic cups. Girls will point shit like this is out and that's when you neg and go, "Ooh . . . you're a cocktail snob . . So you're an interior decorator? . . . Ahh, so you're the 2008 World Cocktail champ. . . etc . . ..) More blah blah blah and she recommends a drink. "Sounds pretty damn good." - Look around, take a few steps . . Point out a feature (bull horns, poster, brass features on a bar, anything) "Ha . . . look at that, ________" (Associate features from this bar with a bar from where ever you came from . . ." "Really? You're from Blah blah blah?" Now you tell them where you're from, how you got here, etc . . . Now you ask them, "So what's another hang out around here?" Now you set up a date and get her number. During the day. just ask for directions for anything . . . |

So you guys say its not good if you use your new in town line as your first words? Because if I am in different country and lets say I am at a bar I don't have problem saying something like: "Hey its my first time in this town and it seems like its the best place for some drinks over here, is it?". Or any other crap line like that  Then she says yeah it is or says something about other places and conversation goes smooth Just looking for some "cooler" or more interesting lines

silver dude, I retract. I don't think the line is so bad . . . but it's not so great either . . . Men mean what they say. We go, "I'm new in town." and this means we're new in town." Women hear this and go, "What the hell does that REALLY mean?" It's much better in my opinion, to narrow down chances of "negative interpretation" and it's better to avoid "ME" as a starter topic. |

I remember someone use that line on Keys to the ViP, and it worked like gold! But like any opener, it's not what you say, but how you say it. |
