| Post subject: | Transitioning |
So, I think I am getting better at opening because I've been able to open multiple sets when out sarging. I think that my next sticking point is transitions. For example, I was out the other night and I opened a two set with an opinion opener, it opened easily but for some reason I just blanked out so I just said thanks and left. I'm happy that I am getting over approach anxiety but I'm a little disappointed that I blanked out like that. Does anyone have some good canned transitions that works when you blank out and does not seem awkward? |

Its funny cause i was just asking about this same problem I asked for some advice and ill pass my findings to you. Its all about reaching the hook point. Thats where the set you open actually wants you to stay and keep talking. The advice that ive gotten has been to comment on visible things like a tatto peircings, clothiong, glasses or anything just to change the subject so you can start another thread. Be intresting and Keep DHVing. Im going to feild teat a lot of these and ill let you know what works for me |

I run the opener, then immediately introduce myself putting my hand out for a shake. Then neg, if they aren't talking by then, I like to run a routine, and from there I can usually make things go more naturally. |

Definitely use Ace's advice, but try looking in the conversational skills section. Usually its the small things that can keep conversations going. One small neg to a girl who isn't expecting it can really get you to that hook point. Be sure you're reading body language. Eventually I would agree that a routine like a kino-trust test or something like the cube should be used. From there its as simple as closing. Keep it Smooth, Poetry |
