Hey all, I rather recently figured out that there is a real pua community around, anyway, I wanted to get some opinions on one of my older club openers. The girl can't be all laughing, smiling and talking for this one. You have to pick a moment when she has been quiet for atleast a short while. Me: walk past her, then turn back Me: "Whats with that look on your face?" ME (Before she says anything): "You look like [I make a REALLY bored face, act like I'm bored as hell and start talking to myself "Oh, good, I'm SO bored, all these people just keep chatting, I REALLY couldn't care less, god, when can we finally leave?! ]" She: *giggles* Me: "Its saturday/friday/... night! Shouldn't you be all like Yey, Party, Party and having a good time?" She: Starts defending herself, "no, no, no.. I'm not bored, I just blah blah blah" Me: "Yeah right, so what else do you do.. I mean besides looking bored and staring at the floor on a Saturday night at <clubname>?" At this point she will start telling you about her job or hobbies or something you can then start on your next story. Have been using this one so many times and usually works like a charm, but remember to really over act the bored part, as if you were at the most boring class of your life. Its all about being funny and getting her to laugh with this one. So, what do you think |

I think it's a great opener because it almost immediately gets them to start qualifying themselves to you. However, how does it work if you are approaching a group? I can see it working well when you approach a woman on her own... but I have trouble envisioning it with a group. |

as I said earlier, it only works if she isn't smiling too much and overly participating in a convo at that moment, if she's part of a group, but standing there saying nothing, even for a short while, it works just as fine, you can modify it a bit to include the friends ... "...I mean its Saturday/friday/... night and you're here with your Friends, everyone else seems to have a good time, only you stand here like [again acting that overly boored look]..." ... Like trying to point out that her friends are having fun, but she isn't. |

You know what that does sound good, but there's a difference between something sounding good and it actually working. I dont think it would work for me, i would have to tweek it to fit my style. Its abit like when people say 'smile' or 'you can smile you know'. I may change it to 'its a saturday you should be having fun, you are having fun aren't you? And whats with that look on your face (acting bored) would probably come accross a threatening if i said it, And get a negative response. Try some variations. |

Great mozyFresh, You're right, we all have our own style and what works for one doesn't always work for another. I myself use imitating a girl, always overly acting some thing she did/said, quite a lot, seems to fit me |

Definetly works if you can get the timing right... If shes socially excluded or just not involved from her group and a stranger approaches her she then gets the bitch shield from friends but it makes it really easy to cold shoudler her as you win over the friends and with her qualifying herself straight away. Works great if shes your target... but you can also pull this off on mixed sets if its the male you approach and just see if he is on handbag duty for the night... that way you'll win him over for helping a bored dude out when he's stuck with his miss's friends... and for approaching him and not the girls they'll wonder wahts going on. And if you give him and his GF attention then the others will be trying to pull you off him for some attention before you know it. |

Thats a damn good opener if the situation is right. I've used a similar one several times: I normally approach a girl who is aside from the dance, game, conversation, etc. and say something like: "Hey, what are you too cool for (whatever)? Unbelievable! I can't believe someone as amazing as you are even hanging near this kind boring (whatever). (said in a slightly mocking but playful voice)." Girl immediately gets defensive and attempts to DHV, but all you need to do is maintain the frame for a few more lines before she asks you basically the same question. You give a playful funny response....for example " I'm actually a professional beer pong scout so I'm just looking for talent" (that sort of bullshit works for me since I'm goofy, but whatever fits your style) before allowing normal conversation to develop. Keep em coming! |

I definitely agree, I really would give this one a shot, seems simple enough even for a beginner such as myself. Thanks! |

How does this work in opening up a 2-set? Can you use the other person by saying something like "Does she always look this bored?" |

I have used something like this. It was my only opener for the longest time before I even know about the Community. I usually go from this to engaging the group, asking if she's always like this. They usually think that I'm a friend of hers and start to engage me in convo. If they don't, I now ask them an opinion opener, saying something like. "Well, you guys seem like fun. I've got to go here in a second, but I gotta get your opinion on something" and go into the friend's party opener. It usually works to open the whole set. And when she tries to join in on the convo, I usually say something like "Oh now that I'm here, you want to join the convo?" It works for me. |
