Okay, I've developed an opener that's derived from the "college student triangle" where the person has to pick two things out of the three (i.e. sleep, grades, and friends). I've changed this opener slightly to fit a girl's idea as to what an ideal man should be, so let's call this the "Ideal Man" opener, and it goes as follows: PUA: "Hey, I need your opinion real quick." HB: "Okay." PUA: "Let's say that there's (pause) a guy walking down the street, and he could be (pause) handsome, (pause) rich, (slightly longer pause) or faithful. Which of the two would you pick?" I've run this opener about ten times, and 9/10, the girl chooses handsome and faithful, followed by rich and faithful, and very rarely will a girl say handsome and rich. I think it's a great opener bc it can spur a group discussion, but the main thing I want to add to this opener is teasing. I'd want to tease the girl for picking such-and-such option, but I don't know how to go about doing it. Any thoughts? |

Hey, I like the opener. It's one that can apply to nearly ever situation and can be used dynamically. Props. As for that tease I can't see one you can place in there. Opinion openers are good for gathering info about a person/group.(I've found). So looking at it from my perspective it's more like your seeing what type of girl/group is like from that opener. I personally would use something along the lines of this... You- "Can I get a ladies view on a dilemma?" Her- "Sure"..."OK what is it?". You- "If you could chose a guy who's handsome or wealthy, what color Lamborghini would you make him buy you". I like this cause your saying that she's going to go for a rich man over a handsome one. She usually would laugh and mention that she has some substance to her and isn't a gold digger. Hope it helps! |

That's actually a pretty clever line! I like how it tricks the girl into revealing her true intentions lol One thing I forgot to mention about my opener is the reasoning behind why girls choose "handsome and faithful" over the other two combinations: the girl thinks she's the one who's going to be rich! I absolutely find this adorable because how often do guys see the hottest-looking chick walking hand-in-hand with the biggest-looking dork? |

why would you punish her when she answers one of your questions? you should reward her

I don't think teasing a girl when she answers my question is a form of "punishment." I'm trying to be C/F and exude the type of personality girls are attracted to - playful and funny. To be logical with a girl when she answers my question is the last thing I'd want to do because why use boring ol' reason? I guess my idea of "reward" is just teasing. Unless there are other, better forms of it. |

If she picks handsome and rich, I would immediately follow up with "Omg, you're so evil...so you'd rather be with a guy who's handsome and rich even if he cheats on you? Obviously, slightly attacking the fact that she would pick handsome and rich. If she says faithful and rich, then obviously attack the rich part. Say something like, "Rich over handsome? You're such a gold digger... You do want to say this in a joking kind-of way, not in a serious where she'd feel you're attacking her. And if she says Faithful and handsome, say, "Ahh..that's so boring... " Point is, whatever she says, make it seem wrong. But again, show it in a joking manner, you don't want the girl to get pissed off at you for being a jackass. |

"awesome, you guys are so friendly." is a much better reward than any neg or tease you could come up withit might come across as playful... or it might come across as an insult. it is up to the girl to determine that so why not eliminate it all together? |

Quote: "awesome, you guys are so friendly." is a much better reward than any neg or tease you could come up with I think this line is too generic. Nothing interesting seems to pop out, but then again, it's all in the delivery. I'll try this one out and see where it takes me, but I'd prefer Black Phantom's idea since his answers use some light teasing, which is what i'm trying to do: being playful.
