I was thinking to myself. A lot of these openers have been used before. I was wondering if there is a risk that the HB might of heard it before and what can i expect if she did. Would she reject right away or what. |

I was sorta thinking the same thing, like what if she calls you on trying to pick her up.... if she says something like that come back a neg her with "yeah me and my friend come here to pick up average looking girls" or something like that |

"yeah me and my friend come here to pick up average looking girls" is less a neg and more of just an insult. It's not something I'd want to come back over the top with if I was hoping of closing a set. You'll get blown out so fast your head will spin! The best way to avoid having this happen to you is to not use someone else's canned openers. Learn from them and come up with your own. Take the "Could you ever date anyone named Howie?" opener. It's possible a set has heard it but they haven't heard it with YOUR spin, and YOUR personality. The story is really meaningless, it's just a way to DHV and make your set want to be interested in you. Anyway here is how I've adapted that specific opener... Me: "Hey, give me your opinion on something. Could you in good consecene ever date anyone named 'Norman'?" Her: "(chuckle) Sure! Blah blah blah" Me: "Really? I have to get back to my friends in a sec (FTC) but get this, one of my friends is named 'Norm' and he was in the middle of a two year dry spell. Needless to say we all got together forming (In funny evil voice) THE SUPER EVIL SOCIETY OF COOL DUDES (Or whatever, I usually make that part up on the spot) Mwhahahaha! Anyway we decided we were going to start calling him Steve. Now, he's getting laid like a rockstar!" Her: "Wow, that was a really crazy laugh you did there..." Me: "Indeed, (into DHV about being a mad scientist)" The important thing is to let who YOU are shine through, not whoever it is you are trying to emulate. As long as your frame is strong enough you can get away with just about anything. |

Quote: The important thing is to let who YOU are shine through, not whoever it is you are trying to emulate. As long as your frame is strong enough you can get away with just about anything. These are just my thought's and what I have learned but, Normally if she asks if I'm trying to pick her up, or asks if I"m a PUA I'll- A)If she's kinda bitchy about it I'll give her an amused smile or small laugh and just say "If that's what you think I guess I'll get back to my friends but, Pleasure meeting you." B) Sometimes I will play it up to the point of seemingly over exaggeration, then tell her "I have this really new routine I've been working on that will blow your mind and if you would like to come with me, (pause) I might just show you.." -Usually gets a pretty good laugh and we move forward from there- C) (laugh) then reverse it in some way to make her look like the PUA and you look like the one being picked up. D) "I Wish I was.... this would be so much easier" Whatever you do -DO NOT DENY IT- acknowledge her statement, make fun of it, reverse it, laugh at it. just saying no you aren't or in some other way denying it is the same in her mind as admitting it. (then again maybe she digs that, who knows use your best judgment) |
