Post subject:  Is this the American way of pickup?
Yesterday I tried a little daygame at the supermarket.

At this supermarket you can place ads on the notice board and I offered my services as an English Tutor.

There was sales promotion with a hostess and I went to her: "Hello, how do you spell tutoring in Hungarian?, with a paper in my hand.
HB7 : OH you made a mistake, I will help, are u American?
I said yes, but I speak Hungarian.
I can speak American English, I can make Hungarian speech with American accent, so they think I am American.

Background: HBs in Hungary want to practice English. HBs in Hungary want to go to the USA. HBs think that American men are the ruling class of people, therefore they have more value than Central European women, they possess more power, and they tend to loose their bitchiness and confidence and respond to their word with rapt attention.

However the current HB (ugly barely 7) was interested in my American Avatar, asked which city I was from.

We talked about learning languages for five minutes then I went shopping in the supermarket.

20 Minutes later I went back to her, I told bad jokes, she laughed hard; then I closed her with asking a date: "Hey I am bored , have little company, why don't we go and see the Museum of Communism downtown next week."

She was very reluctant, but finally gave me her email address, saying "OK Good, I will be able to practice English with you!"

What do you recon: ??

Nicely done; couple of things to keep in mind; 1) hired guns are paid to be nice to you; approach non-hired guns more. 2) Close w/ her digits, not email. Digits or nothing. If you go on the date, have fun.

Such hired guns want to learn advanced English, so they could go on landing a job as P. A. at Exxon mobile, then go out with the CFO.

On the same day, after the supermarket, I went to the Plaza an hour later.

1st floor there was the coffee machine promotion booth: a mixed set, of one HB7, and two guys; the coffee was the local version of Starbucks)

I took their free coffee and did an American accent: They: Hey! Hey! You...American!!
Yes, bla, bla,bla...They taught that was funny...
I told them my father was American. I told them I did a 4 year term in the USA Army, and what was TRUE!!!, I got my English Teacher license via a GI bill. They said COOL, cool, cooool!!!!

(In my earlier years before Pickup, or before yesterday, during the last 8 years, there was not even one set of people who told me that I was cool, my original Hungarian version must suck :mrgreen:

I must mention that the guys were at least as much into me as the chick, and kind of came between me and the HB, Hb wanted to leran English from me.

Then I started to make some parody of poor Hungarian student trying to speak English, all of them had to squat down laughing, and pressing their hands to the sides of their bodies...

They completely ignored their work, but I could not get her phone number becaise the guys were so close by.

Any suggestions??
