We've all been here? It's the moment right before the approach, the split second before you walk up and say "hi" or whichever opener you favor. And then her eye's go shifty. She darts her eyes away and pretends she hasn't seen you. Generally this is a down-and-to-the-side thing, along head movement. Good or bad? |

Which way do her eyes look away? |

Generally, this is a down and to the side, shift, along with the head moving along with it. |

Down is good, it's a hard wired submissive response to perceived higher value in a prospective mate. |

The meaning is ultimately subjective, but the top reasons are they either like you when they do that, and/or it's a deflection test to see if you'll be deterred by something you might see as them showing disinterest. You shouldn't let eye contact deter you from starting most interactions. Looking away to the side is more of a genuine indicator of disinterest. Looking at you, then down, isn't the best place to go if you want to act like you weren't looking at someone or are not interested. |
