I am sure majority of the people has seen the number guessing game. Ask someone to think of a number between 1 to 10 and 70-80% of the time, they will say 7.

How about we convert this into an opener? Something like, "Hey my friend just told me mind trick game he learned in his psychology class. And I think there is no way it could work and I need to try it on your guys to prove him wrong." Then you can start run the game on all of them and see how many of them come up with 7.

I think it should work with a big set, as when law of large number applies, majority of the set should have guessed 7, but if this game is run on a single person, then there is always a chance she guesses something else therefore kill the conversation.

That's a fairly indirect opener if you're taking that route it's good, but more than the opening the follow up will be more important.

Now there are some cooler tricks that are 100% but they require some math or a phone calculator, probably not the best for loud environments, but it will definitely blow them away and get them hooked and ask you to do it twice or thrice more.

But again even if you leave them blown away you need to follow up with it in a VERY flirtatious manner otherwise they'll think you're there just for entertainment and you won't know what the interest is in, the trick or you.

I just stick to the good old, direct + natural and taking the lead, it's all about confidence, who cares what you open up with.
