| Post subject: | Tourists at Work |
Hi guys, I am currently working at an information center for tourists at my homeland. Every day there are at least a couple of HB's coming to my stand for info. I thought of offering myself as a local-private-tourguy for free, but I have two main concerns: 1. It might come as unproffesional (My boss will kill me if he finds out). Do you guys have any insights about dating customers? 2. What my routine should be like? I was thinking strait forward: "Do you know any local people?" or "Did you meet any cute local guys?" if not: "I usually don't do this, but since you look like a cool person, I can give you a tour to places only known for locals". What do you think about it? Any idea for spicing the routine up? Any insight about dating tourists in general will be appreciated. |

Here is the framework you should work on. Make the tour THEIR idea, YOU are doing THEM a favor. So if anything does "happen" and your boss finds out, you can legitimately say shit just happened. You can achieve this by being cocky-friendly. "I bet you don't see _______ where you're from", "If you're looking for food, I can tell you Joe's Pizzahut is better than the pizza where you're from". Add on some lines like "Man, just talking about Joe's Pizzahut is making me want to go there for lunch" or "I have a break in 10 minutes, if you're not a hurry I can show you a good time". Because your work is stationery, it's kinda like fishing. You'll have a lot of fish swim away but just keep at it and one of these days, you'll get a catch. |
