| Post subject: | OPENER: Drinking Straw |
So I just tried something the other night that allowed me to open a set, touch upon sexuality, and transition seamlessly into negging my target. No idea if this will prove successful in the future, but wanted to put it out there for other guys to try (if it works, don't abuse it by mistreating any women afterwards). STRAW OPENER I was done drinking for the night and decided to get a soda before I headed out. I usually hate when I'm served a drink with a straw in it because it feels redundant and wasteful, but this time I chose a straw. I walked over to these two college girls (I'm 34) and asked them: "Do you think a man can drink out of a straw and still look masculine?" Then I took a sip. The girls both smiled and laughed and said "Sure." Then I said, "I don't know, I think it comes across as a little feminine." Then my target said, "Do you think a woman can look feminine drinking right from a glass?" And I said, "I don't know, let's see." She took a sip out of her glass, looked up expectantly and I shook my head, saying, "Not really." I sat down with them and chatted them up for the next fifteen minutes while finishing my drink and they ended up agreeing to come to my music gig in a couple weeks. No idea if she's coming to my show or not, but it's definitely an opener I plan to try again. -Castlemount |

Sounds decent...will try this out on the weekend when I'm out...thinking of transitioning into talking about why men don't look masculine sucking on a straw - i.e. it's a phallic symbol, once I build enough attraction something like "can you stop sucking on that straw please (sly smile)" - reverse phsychology - if she's into it she'll respond by sucking on the straw more, if not then I know I need to build more attraction (kind of a responsiveness test). |

Going bar hopping on Saturday. Will try it then. This is definitely a bar opener and not a club opener. |

I'm going to use the opener beginning of the night at pre-drinks, then use the "please stop sucking on that straw This is definitely a bar opener and not a club opener. I see what you mean though about bar/club opener - club would be too loud to explain it in most cases, but if I root it earlier on and make her remember it, using the 2nd part in the club will be easy |

I think that's a great opener + an easy and natural transition to a neg. I'll definitely be trying this! |

I didn't try it. My night was a failure, to be honest. I had a chest infection, was tired and high on meds. When I got out the meds in my stomach made me feel sick. So I was fighting a losing battl. I just stayed in my group most the night. I did open a couple of sets, but by the time we hit the club (a club I despise) I had lost all motivation and was ready to go home at 12 haha. I will try this in a week or two. |
