My opening is 100% pretty much. I've literally opened from a 2set to a ten set and played it well and fine using the usual material. I'm confident in it, I usually don't care what anyone thinks and if I feel i've been treated badly before I finish opening i'll be persistent(As what happened in a 7+set with a bunch of divorcee's -- I'll probably discuss this in another thread). Most importantly I don't come across as a creep or bug them to no end.

I usually open up innocently enough saying things like "My friend's Ex here won't leave him alone..." or "I heard about this trick and i'm really curious if it works or not. Pick a number between 1 and 10." You know, simple stuff to get in and keep it interesting.

It's all fine and good and I was getting really bored with just opening tonight(I am new to this after all but eager) until two older women were staring at me, making eye contact with me while my friend was in the toilet. I told myself I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't open on them and just went for it even though it had been beyond the usual 3 seconds of first seeing them.

I decided to try my own opening with a mix of Mysteries magic and some c/f so I went to them both, approached the blonde(My target the brunette -- She just had something about her that drew me to her) and opened with "Can I try a magic trick? Take your phones out and show them to me. I can make them both vanish from your sight." They were both sceptical and the blonde started asking me questions. She asked if I really knew magic to which I replied "No, I know nothing about magic but figured it'd be a nice way to open up a conversation with you and see what you and your friend would think a good upgrade would be."

Immediately after this the blonde started complaining saying she was expecting a real magic trick. I decided this was a good time to ignore her and start talking to the brunette as I knew the blonde would be an issue anyway and I really had no come back to her taking my c/f so badly other than to starve her of attention. The brunette's eyes lit up as I spoke to her but that was soon sullied by the fact that the friend started saying they had to leave and were on their way out and that if i'd spoken to them earlier i'd have plenty of time to talk with them. I thought nothing of it but pursued my target(I mean, hey... I had nothing to lose. She was being dragged out the door anyway).

The big shock was that when I asked the brunette what her name was("I didn't get your name.") the blonde turned around and replied "My name is Mystery."

Yep. Her name was Mystery she said. Ouch. I immediately decided to punish her by saying "I was asking for your friends name." She played it well and said "Her name is Mysterious."

Ouch.
