Hey everyone,

I'm a magician, so opening isn't that difficult for me. Everyone likes magic.
(It's the subsequent steps that always elude me :P)

However, I wanted to pick your brains on something.

When I was a freshman in college, I used to wear a sign that said "I do magic tricks. Ask." to meet new people because I was shy.

The benefit to this is that people will approach YOU.

This way, there's never even a HINT of obviousness that you're hitting on them because THEY approach YOU to ask YOU to do something.

You're already starting with higher value.

What are your thoughts? Is this a good or bad gameplan?

I think it sounds good and it's making the job easier for you, everybody likes being approached it gives confidence.
however is it just a method you're using to avoid overcoming your own AA?
you're kind of lowering you're own value because you're doing tricks on demand for them? you aren't a performing monkey.
to summarise briefly, i think you should fight your shyness and your approach anxiety and use the magic as one of your tools in your belt, not your entire game

Your headed in the right direction. What's better then cold approaching is having people approach you based on the identity you built. Meeting girls through social circle or this is pretty much the only way your gonna get 9 or 10's.

But if you like magic, is not something that should be done to get women or have people approach you. It should be done because is something you truly enjoy.

My hobby, it gets tons of hot women because the social value it builds for me. Too bad I am dating one right now so I can't game. But here is the thing, I never took it up for women, or money. It just something I got into because I actually enjoyed.

If you're going to do this you gotta walk around like you have a SHIT ton of confidence. If you go around looking shy you'll look like a freaking creeper. And when they ask you to perform tricks, have a shit ton of confidence, and joke around a bit. If your confidence is low, then prepare the jokes as a part of the trick and practice them.

A sign might be too ostentatious, however, a t-shirt that says the same thing might work better.
