Post subject:  Know your beer!!!

Fellow PUA's. I have noticed a great trend all around the US. Craft beer is back!

I love beer. I brew my own and can talk to just about all of the different varieties out there. To me, it's an interesting topic but to HB's, it's a DHV. The moment I tell them that I brew my own their very first response has always been "well I haven't tried it yet". If that's not a 'invite me to your house' I don't know what is.

There are two different types of beer. Ales and Lagers.

Ales: fermented at room temperature (known as a bottum down fermenting yeast). Typical styles include: Pale Ale, India Pale Ale (IPA), Porter, Stout, Amber Ale, Grand Cru, Abbey Ale, Belgian Trippels and most seasonal beers.

Lager: fermented at cooler temps (38-42 degrees). These beers require a room temperature diacetyl (die-act-l) rest to allow the yeast to warm back up and then are subjected to the temp again (usually a 24 hour process). Styles include: budwieser (vomit), bud light (vomit even more) and anything that includes the term "lager".

The main difference is the finish of the beer, a lager finishes more crisp and has a more mellow taste than an ale.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because the craft beer scene is definitely making a comeback and I've met more and more girls that are ordering IPAs and specialty beers. You can definitely grab their attention if you start recommending beers for them to try based on their preferred style. there are literally thousands (amount of variety of beer available) openers you can come up with if you just invest the time to learn about beer.

If you have ANY questions about beer, please feel free to reply to this thread or PM me, I'll definitely get you spun up on beers.

I only drink light beer, usually bud light, so nope. I don't care if I loose few girls because I don't know my beer.
