K, so i am at the snow now and i have a few questions for approach.
1) Whats a good opener in the line for or on a lift
2) What can u do to pick up a liftie, ie the person at the lifts what can u say to them in the little while u see them
3) what are some things to say to people when walking around the village

1) Lifts are actually a really easy place to talk to people. Because you're already forced to be sat next to each other anyway people don't become defensive from you approaching them, you're just being friendly. I literally just say "hows it going" most of the time and carry on conversation with what they say next. Some other examples:

"have you been up there yet? how is it"
"does it get any better up the top?" if its cloudy/raining where you get on the lift
"i like your jacket" lots of people have quite unusual or brightly coloured ski clothes

I've not managed to get anyones number before I get to the top. Let me know if you do, it'd be good to know how you did it!

2) I'm very new and couldnt tell you how to do it there n then. I guess if theyre at the top you could ask them about weather conditions or something. One thing I've done though is just say "hi" and smile every time you see them. Then if you ever see them in a club/pub they'll recognize you, the ice is already broken and you can literally walk up and introduce yourself without her being defensive. Make eye contact with her, smile as you recognize each other and just walk up n say "Hey, I'm Adam" (or whatever your name is!)

3) Not good enough to help with this! My guess would be that it's no different to any other place. In the village there a shops n pubs etc just like anywhere else.

Any chance you're in Whistler!? I could do with a wingman!
