I know you are not supposed to approach from behind but I've heard it is twice as intimidating and a lot harder to get girls to stop when they are already moving. I've approached moving sets before but that was only to ask for directions. My question is I'm terrified of approaching moving sets at the mall do to the fact that there are people walking behind you and others that might see you get blown out. Is it really that much harder to approach a moving set versus approaching a girl looking at some books or DVDs?

Says Who? Try it. Approach from behind, stop them but then move a few steps just slightly ahead of them and then continue talking. After you have done this a few times you'd be confident of approaching from behind - the goal is not to look like a stalker :D or someone who is trying to stop them from getting to their destination. you can even walk with them as you start the conversation.

Most girls at malls are strolling. Try approaching them nothing bad happens.
