Post subject:  Is this BS opener or what?
Today I approached a four set of trainee workers in a local supermarket:
-I need some customer service, can u help?
-OK
-My ex-girlfriends cat had kittens and she tried to sell me one. Should I buy it? I really don't know anything about animals, never had a pet.
-I think u should :D
Half of the set walked away, and I continued with the two hottest ones. Started throwing stupid jokes, like: How big vivarium I need? Is once a week feeding OK? What if it shits on the walls, pees on carpet or scratches furniture? Im gonna call it chairman Mao Zedong.
And I told story about my friends cat who shits under the table for a protest.
They laughed at every joke like psychos and their faces were red, they couldn't breath.
What I'm asking is, was I just a clown to give them laughs, or did they laugh at my crappy jokes because they liked me?

if their laughing thats a good thing, they were laughing with you so thats good too.

One of the things I struggle with is weaving in DHV's and thats a must. If all you can offer is jokes yer missing much of the game.

A good thing to have doen is tell how you save a cat from wandering onto a busy street once . . can make it funny saying he was suicidal over a girl and I told him it wasnt worth it.

I'd say once you have them laughing you need to go into more conversational less jokey material. You can only entertain so long before you do become the clown. Stay fun and jokey, but more conversational. "So, what do you guys do for excitement here?" or something like that. Open them up and get them talking so you aren't doing all the work.

Your sense of humor will get you far, just dish it out in small controlled doses and leave them wanting more.

yeah dude, not too many jokes, your gonna wanna move into next phase quite soon. Read some stuff about juggler (his work, that is) if you like that cat opener (i would think thats where u got the idea, but his cat jokes are, to me at least, funnier. chairman Mao vs reincarnation of richard nixon, doing backflips? 0:1!)
