Hey All! I need some advice on this girl I was supposed to have a date with last Friday - she canceled and wanted to go on Sunday instead. She canceled again and texted me saying that she really wanted to go out with me during the week but she had to study for an exam. She wrote, "Please please please." I did text her back saying, "ok, we can do it later in the week but you are paying." hahaha I haven't heard from her since(4 days now); of course I am the guy here, and I do intend on asking her out again, but I don't want to lower my value since she has canceled on me 2 times already. How do I go about asking her out (again) via text? We have never met in person (online dating only). |

She's flaking out on you several times. Don't make jokes! (I know you are trying to make her more comfortable, by saying that is ok. But it is not. She flaked on you!) If you stay nice and keep on asking her out, she will see you as a wuss. The time that she said 'please, please, please' is not that she liked you so much, it is because she felt uncomfortable that she is letting someone down in general. Since this is online dating, (she has not investd lots of effort and time), she is not worth your time. Text her for the last time: "I am going out next friday at 'CLUB X'. You can join me if you want. If you can't, that's ok. I will enjoy myself" Be precise, and you set the time and place! If she is interested, she will make time. If she is not interested, why bother to spend more time? |

Thanks for your reply. That is some really great advice. I am working very hard to build comfort with girls, and since I broke up with my ex of 4 years, this is the farthest I have come with a girl (and she actually seems really cool). I am probably being somewhat naive here, but I do know that she is studying for a CPA exam. Nonetheless, she canceled twice (although she is the one who wanted to have coffee with me initially). I suggested mini golf instead. We agreed upon friday, she canceled, she suggested Saturday morning (I couldn't make it), then Sunday morning (and she cancels at the last minute). We met on a dating site, and moved over to Facebook after a month. Perhaps an insecurity on my part, but I cannot help but think that she saw my Facebook profile pictures and thought I wasn't her type or something. Why else would she bail on me? She is the one who said text me on Facebook, and gave me her number. (I did not ask for it.) She is the one who initially wanted to go out for a cup of coffee. And then she bails and acts flakey!!! The only thing I can think of is that she met someone else. Hmmm!!! Advice? P.S. This post reeks of insecurity; I know. But I am working on overcoming my one-ingitis syndrome. I felt as if though she was a good start and I wanna know how I can improve my game. |
