I've always felt awk at day game, the beach being no exception. IMO, I've felt alcohol has always helped my approaching - the consumption being by the target HBs, not me. So anyway, I noticed today, I wanted to talk to so many girls, but just felt awkward... I mean a guy coming up to you while all your skin's exposed? What do you guys say to come off as genuine and not too creepy? Keep in mind that the beach is spread out, soo they might assume I'm going out of their way to talk to them. Of course, this valuable knowledge you all will be providing won't be used till next year... |

First, a bit of inner game: the thing with the girl having exposed skin--it should make zero difference to your game. As a well-socialized young man you have been socialized not to "take advantage" of a girl when she is "vulnerable" and therefore you either feel creepy or worry about being judged as such if you approach her when she is 90% naked. This is 100% backwards! The beach is, in a lot of ways, like a club (and less like other kinds of day game). She will have her game face on and understand that she has the advantages because you are likely to be intimidated by skin. (A couple of summers in Europe will help to cure this.)So anyway, I noticed today, I wanted to talk to so many girls, but just felt awkward... Second, instead of being extra cautious / nice at the beach, if you are going to get anywhere, you want to come in strong and then move on if you don't get some IOIs pretty quick. This is particularly important in dealing with a stationary target--a girl who has scored one of those prime spots she's not likely to want to give up. Here you want to read the fuck off signs even if she's being polite--not to is creepy, and it wastes your time. Third, my favorite beach opener is direct working quickly to re-frame: 1) smile as you approach and try to make eye contact, if she checks you out or looks away and looks back, you have an invitation--just a bland smile, however, is discomfort 2) Place yourself comfortably at her level, so you are not looming, I usually kneel, esp. if I am dressed in a way that it looks like I wouldn't do that (this is assuming she is on the ground. If she's in one of the lounge chairs, and you can't sit next to her, you more or less are left with squatting--though I have a ballsy friend who will tap a girl's legs and tell her to shove over so he can talk to her. 3) Just say, "Hi, I'm xxxxxxxxx, and you are fucking hot." Give her time to react a little and then follow up with either a statement--a wild ass guess about her (where she's from, what she does, etc.), give her time to react... Or a story that you actually own. Save the questions until/unless she starts doing get to know you questions from you, although you can do something like, "Say more." By then you should know if it's time to go. But... very important, as you are saying hi, open kino with a light touch on her upper arm or elbow, just for a second. |
