| Post subject: | Girls on dating sites asking if you're on Facebook |
Is this getting more popular these days? I've had a couple of girls that I'd been exchanging messages with on dating sites ask if I was on Facebook. Should I give them my info as soon as they ask or give them a hard time first? I gave my info to the first girl and she added me immediately and things seem to be fine but I haven't heard anything from the other girl which I find odd. Why would the girl want my FB info and then not add me or contact me again? What should my follow up be? I was thinking if I still haven't heard anything from her for a week or two to email her again on the dating site and give her a hard time. Any suggestions? |

It just happens sometimes on a dating site, i have had a few girls, after a 10-30 minute im chat on a dating site, offering their fb or msn instead of no, if they offer they msn i will go for fb, most girls accept fb add straight away, i did have one who didnt but she didnt fb reject me either, so maby she is busy or something, i have her email anyway so might shoot her a mail taking the piss I gave my info to the first girl and she added me immediately and things seem to be fine but I haven't heard anything from the other girl which I find odd. These girls asked for my Facebook info, meaning I gave them my name so they could look me up. The first girl sent me a friend request right away. The other girl has done nothing even though it appears she got my message on the dating site. Just wondering what I should do about the second girl. What's even stranger about the situation with her is before she wanted my FB info she was super fast in replying to emails on the dating site. |

I'm not a fan of this. I know a few people (and myself) who got asked the same thing. You give your info to them, never hear back. Things were going fine in the confines of dating site. I know people use facebook differently. but the last thing i want to do is let a girl have my name and find more pics of me, get other info, whatever. maybe i'll add her if we start going out. i know - might sound extreme but I separate these 2 things. |

I completely agree I have had girls begging me to see them then when I add them to FB they look at other old pics of me and with my family and my other friends and the connection goes weak. I will always meet now first let them see me as I am now get to know me then add to facebook. Facebook really is more for friends and people you know in real life unless you set a profile up just for meeting new people on.

Started to avoid FB now for advancing communication with women on dating sites, because a lot of the time, the vibe gets killed by lack of communication, plus I prefer to keep FB for people I really know. Get her number after building comfort and some attraction, meet up as suggested, if your all kool, then add her or she can add you. I just say "I don't really do FB anymore" |

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll avoid using Facebook with girls on dating sites in the future. What should I do about that girl who never added me or contacted me again after I gave her my info? I want to send one more message on the dating site to try and restart things but I'm not sure what I should say. Suggestions? |

Personally leave it, but if you want to start interaction again, don't try to hard, be yourself, ask her, hey what's good? Just general, friendly conversation seen as she knows who you are.

Use Gambler's line:"If I'm going to add you, I'll put you on limited profile, so you can only see my hand" (or something like that) and than just say that you rather get to know her live. |
